What We Do

How Much Did I Spend On ("we", "the app") helps you understand your spending by category. We connect to your bank via Plaid to read your transactions.

Data We Access

When you connect your bank account through Plaid, we access:

• Transaction history (up to 12 months)
• Account names and balances

We do not access your bank login credentials. Plaid handles authentication directly with your bank.

How We Use Your Data

• We send your transaction names and categories to Anthropic's Claude AI to classify spending into the category you choose.
• Transaction data is cached temporarily (up to 2 hours) to reduce load times.
• Analysis results are cached for up to 1 hour.

Data We Store

• Plaid access tokens (encrypted by Plaid, used to fetch your transactions)
• Cached transaction and analysis data (temporary)

We do not store your bank credentials, full account numbers, or routing numbers.

Data Sharing

• Plaid — to connect to your bank and retrieve transactions. See Plaid's privacy policy.
• Anthropic — transaction names and categories are sent to Claude AI for spending categorization. See Anthropic's privacy policy.

We do not sell your data to anyone.

Deleting Your Data

Tap "logout" in the app to immediately revoke your Plaid connection and delete all stored data. You can also email us to request deletion.

Security

All connections use HTTPS. Bank connections are handled by Plaid's secure infrastructure. We follow industry-standard practices to protect your data.
